Never Too Early

Brian February 14th, 2006

Not to be criticized for waiting too long to announce a potential candidacy, J.C. has already taken care of that step and agreed to be my campaign manager in a run for the Mansion.

Go check out his blog sometime. If I had to limit myself to just reading a few blogs every day, “The Richmond Democrat” would certainly be on that list.

New Virginia Blog

Brian February 7th, 2006

I just found a new Virginia blog, although, I am not sure where in Virginia the author is from.

Check out “perseverando” sometime.

The first thing I noticed over there was this photoshopped image of Virgil Goode.

Virgil Goode

Not to mention this one-liner: “Congressman Goode has taken his $90,000 in tainted campaign money and “bought” almost two hundred press releases about his generosity.”

Brian January 19th, 2006

I was not going to mention my birthday here this year, but after I got such a great cake I had to share a photo of it.

Last year, I rolled out a new blog theme for my birthday. This year I decided to just stick with the current one.

Lunch Blogging

Brian December 11th, 2005

As was reported here (by Chad) and here (by Ben), I did have a nice lunch with them yesterday. They went over various 2009 scenarios while I enjoyed the great meal.

Contrary to widespread rumors, Lowell and I are still on speaking terms and I have not been asked to turn in my Raising Kaine membership card.

The end of Blogger?

Brian November 29th, 2005

WordPress continues to out do itself. This new blogger-like service (WordPress.com) is amazing. Why would anyone prefer Blogger over Wordpress?

I suppose the only people that will stay with Blogger now are those that have built up a lot of links to their .blogspot.com URLs or are traditionalists. The only thing they really had going for them was the price.

After a few months of using Blogger, I jumped on the WordPress train as fast as I could. Now one can have WordPress for free.

The WordPress.com admin interface is really close to the normal WordPress and only missing a few features.

This will probably be the end of Blogger as we know it.

Warner for President graphic

Brian November 22nd, 2005

As you all may have noticed, I am leaving the Kaine for Governor graphic up in the sidebar way too long. I have been waiting on a suitable replacement in the form of a Mark Warner for President one.

Since they have not released any yet, I decided to make my own.

Mark Warner for President, 2008

Mark Warner for President, 2008

It is based on his Warner for Governor ones in 2001, and as you can tell I am not that great with Photoshop. Nevertheless, feel free to steal, share, use, and so forth.

Best Wishes to Kilo

Brian October 19th, 2005

My old buddy Kilo had an accident yesterday and is in the hospital. Sounds like an equipment malfunction was the culprit.

Keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

Kilo, I hope to see you back in the Virginia Blogosphere soon.

Are you tired of Bloglines? Need a good web-based RSS Reader?

If you answered yes, then you may want to check out Google’s new RSS reader.

RTD Blog

Brian September 15th, 2005

When a few of us were having lunch at the Blogging Summit with Jeff Schapiro, he hinted that the RTD was going to start a blog.

Looks like they have done just that.

The first post is up and about Tuesday’s debate.

Virginia Blogs

Brian September 14th, 2005

I mentioned this once before, here.

Since then a ton of new blogs in Virginia have started up so I thought it was time to mention it again.

Lewis Moten, of Woodbridge, set up a nice listing of Virginia Blogs. If you are from Virginia and have a blog, hurry over and Add yours.

–> Virginia Bloggers

Now if we can just get all the blogs on that list to submit a post into the Virginia Blog Carnival #3, we will be in business. :)

First Confirmation Hearing for Roberts

Brian September 12th, 2005

As I was reading over some of the stories from today’s confirmation hearing, I found this site that allows random users to upload video files and then share them with the world.

Here is a cool one from the AP:
(Just click the Play button in the bottom, left corner to view the video.)
