The results will be up here for Virginia.
I visited most of the precincts in Dickenson County today. We had a good turnout and most people said it was a strong Democratic turnout. Webb should win Dickenson by record margins.
Update:
It’s now 12:30 AM, and the SBE results page just updated to show Jim Webb in the lead by nearly 2,000 votes. This will go down in history as one of the greatest political upsets ever. Now the fun parts - observe the canvass, hearings, recounts, etc. - can get started. Or are there more votes out there? Will Webb’s lead be large enough to avoid recounts? I hope so.
It looks like Webb carried Dickenson by about 600 votes.Boucher won by 1400-74%-26%.
Yeah, Dickenson seems to have been strong for Webb.
And the number keeps getting closer.
Recount time?
It looked hopeless there for a little bit. What a comeback and we might pull it off with a photo finish. I’m also glad to see that the Dems carried the two counties surrounding the site of the Macaca incident. That should send a message.
I am certainly glad we have moved into the lead.
As I learned last year in Creigh’s recount: keeping votes is hard, but trying to find votes is even harder.
I am glad we will be on defense this year.
Let the theft begin. With only 7,000 votes to steal for Allen, look for the illiterate hicks in the Norton financed crew to steal just enough votes to put the fourth string party boy wanna be quarterback norton financed closet queen right in there. Think about it, its too good to resist. They will have to be too blatant for words here, due to the small number of votes they have at their disposal, but you are talking about a group of people who think they can control the world from an abandoned coalmine. I.E., they are stoopid!
AP has just called it for Webb.
Allen is conceeding. I guess George Allen is a little smarter than has been Jerry and never was Terry. Maybe thats because he’s the only one in their crew with a real education, even if his dad bought his way in. I guess while on “North Grounds” (pretentious bastards) he must have learned about something more than coal, cornpone and the holier than thou jealousy and self righteous victimhood that can only come from having a pitifully low GPA and LSAT score. (Actually, a fairly elementary test, though it is seen as the riddle of the sphinx around here.) Give the child of white affirmative action credit for knowing the illiterate evil queen bee of SWVA politics was too stupid to not get caught in her scam while playing in the big leagues. Allen is still done though, no matter how much money that fat, crazy sycophant in Norton throws his way. The corrupt SWVA crew is slowly disintegrating, right on schedule. No prosecutor with a propaganda filled website can save them. Geobbels couldn’t save Hitler could he?
