50th Anniversary
Brian July 24th, 2006
If I had to make a list of places that one should visit while in Southwest Virginia and Northeast Tennessee, Pal’s would certainly be on it. I doubt there is any fastfood place out there that can beat a Sauce Burger (with cheese), fries, and a big sweet tea.
Via the KTN, I see that the chain is now 50 years old. A full history of Pal’s can be found here.
Now I am starving for a Sauce Burger. Road trip?

I crave Sweet Tea at all hours of the day.
I’m addicted to Pal’s Big Tea. If I don’t have atleast two a day, I go into withdrawal.
Brian, Want to join me in lobbying Pal Barger for a Wise County location?
Aside from Skyline Chili, Pal’s has the best chili cheese dog on the planet. A must stop everytime I drive through Gate City or Kingsport.
When I was at Emory, I used to make special trips to Exit 7 just to get a Pal’s burger. So, to have one in Wise would be great!
Speaking of Skyline Chili and sweet tea, in Ohio, it was very rare to find sweet tea.
One of the few places where one could get a sweet tea was Skyline. The other places were Texas Roadhouse, Cracker Barrel, and Lee’s Chicken, but who is keeping track anyway?
