Good luck, Brian.

It's getting closer to when we'll be painting the outside of our 32 year-old house. Last time we painted three coats!!!! So we may have a bit more time.

I think I (and the hubby) have one more exterior paint job in us before we give up and hire it out in the future.

But at least this next time I have an IPOD (I'm possibly the oldest owner of one). I learned long ago, that with music, it isn't painful to paint.

Meanwhile, I've seen a few too many HGTV shows for my own good and I am painting the inside (or much of it) in the coming year. What ever gave us the idea that white interiors loooked any good?

Don't worry, I am pacing myself so I have time to volunteer for James Webb.

Good point, John. I would not doubt that all of that paint is lead-based.

On the walls, we have been covering it all up with the "mud". But on some of the trim, that had been painted, we have had to "strip" it back down to the wood which required a lot of scraping and sanding. I always wear a mask, though.

Lead paint? Ah crap. Ours was built in 1947, and we scraped the paint off before we painted last time.

Didn't even think of lead...

Brian,
Just remeber, don't scrap or sand the walls. Your house was white walls, and it was built before 1978. This means you may have LEAD paint on your walls.
Take care and have fun.
