Webb Wins Straw Poll

Brian March 17th, 2006

I just got this via email from the Webb Campaign:

“Jim Webb won the straw poll at Gerry Connolly’s St. Patrick’s Day event with
58% of the vote.”

Harris Miller seems like a nice guy, but I think this will probably finish off his bid for the nomination.

I posted on RK where I first heard the news. This is wonderful for James Webb. Likely as not many of the participants were more impressed by Sec. Webb’s performance on Hardball and his answers at the DailyKos than Miller’s flashy new web site (which is still short on substance). Curse of the Irish on Miller; he’s NOT a nice guy. Luck of the Irish to Sec. Webb who has the common man’s welfare and nation at heart. You’ll be seeing more comments about Sec. Webb at www.itpaa.org

Let’s hope Miller stays in the race and focuses on tearing Allen a new one.

The candidates could use the free publicity even if Webb is certain to win the nomination. Miller could use the attention for a future statewide bid.
