Ralph Stanley for Ferguson

Last week, Democratic challenger Eric Ferguson was joined on the campaign trail by a living legend and Dickenson County native, Dr. Ralph Stanley.
Ralph proudly endorsed Eric Ferguson and put on a show in front of nearly 800 supporters and fans.
“I’ve been an old-timey Democrat for 78 years,” Stanley said. In early September, Ferguson declared his campaign office “Ol’ Timey Democrats World Headquarters”.
I know it is hard to beat an incumbent, but I think Ferguson is giving future candidates in Virginia the winning formula.
I love Ralph Stanley. He and my family go back to the 1950’s at WCYB Farm and Fun Time (although my uncle was much closer to Carter Stanley).
I hope the good Doctor gets into Terry Kilgore’s district for McCarty or anywhere in Southwest Va for Kaine.
Ralph really is a great guy. I suspect he stays booked up, but I am sure he would help out Rex anyway he could.
