It appears the First Virginia Blog Carnival was a huge success, except I expected a lot more people to submit posts. I assume everyone was too busy with Labor Day last week and are planning on submitting a post this week. Here is information about the VBC and how you can be included in Virginia Blog Carnival #2.

About The Virginia Blog Carnival

Each Monday, a Virginia blogger will host a Virginia Blog Carnival, offering just a sample of the topics Virginia bloggers have been writing about during the week. We hope everyone’s curiosity will be piqued to read more of the selected posts, thereby giving more exposure to each participating blogger’s site.

How To Participate In The Carnival

All Virginia bloggers and blog readers are welcome to submit links for a Monday Carnival. Here are the submission guidelines:

If you’d like to make a submission, send it to ‘brian (at) brianpatton.org’ by Sunday, September 11, at 6:00 p.m. EST. A backup email address is ‘bpatton (at) dcwin.org’.

1. Identify one of your posts that you’d like to publicize.

2. Include the following information:

  • Name of your Blog
  • URL to your blog
  • Your name (or the name you blog under)
  • Where in Virginia you live
  • The title of your post
  • Permalink to your post
  • Trackback to your post (optional)
  • Brief summary of your post (also optional)

    • 3. Publicize (i.e., link to it) the Carnival when it appears on Monday, September 5.

    4. Make sure the subject line clearly identifies your submission as related to VBC.

    Easy enough, right? So now send me your favorite recent post and get ready to be discovered on Monday morning by thousands* of new readers.

    * The use of “thousands” may not be entirely accurate, but hopefully a few new people will find your blog. :)
