Pope Benedict XVI

Although I am not Catholic, I am very intrigued by the process we have all witnessed over the past few days. When I was at Emory & Henry, I took a course called “Liberation Theology” and discussed some basic aspects of Catholicism, but not enough to understand the historical significance of the recent events.

I was disappointed, I thought they would have taken a chance. But they took the safe route. At least his older and will be on his way in a few years.
I am a firm believer that the Church should actually unite behind liberation theology. If not even the Church will look out for the poor and the oppressed and stand up for them, who is going to?
Of course, conservatives hate liberation theology. And quite frankly, it seems that when it comes to the poor and oppressed, conservatives just don’t care at all. Every man for themself.
