FireFox
Brian December 3rd, 2004
At first, I was hesitant to change from IE to Firefox. However, after a good sales job by Kilo and hitting a few snags in IE, I gave it a try. I have now been using it exclusively for around a month and love it. I had not really thought about it getting any better, but it did.
While browsing around the Wordpress Support Forum (my second home) I read about someone who was using the Web Developer’s Toolbar Extension. I thought "an extension, what in the heck is that?" So, after some quick research I found out that Firefox does not include many bonus features so the initial download can be smaller. Then users can download only the add-ons they need. This makes perfect sense to me. So, if your using Firefox, be sure to check out the list of Extensions also.
I ended up downloading three (Web Developer Toolbar, Sage, and FireFTP). All of them have already started saving me a lot of time.
Also, I have decided to throw out my MS Frontpage in favor of Nvu which is set up kind of like Firefox. It looks like it will be a lot better program too. It gets rid of all that junk in Frontpage I never needed anyway.

I have firefox and opera which I use on and off instead of explorer however some web pages (including mine) don’t display properly in the mozilla type browsers. I’ve ran into the problem many times and it seems to usually happen when I’m paying bills or trying to buy something thus I usually end up using explorer.
hi Brian, congrats on school!!
Firefox is the best browser i have used. The extensions are awesome! the Web Developer’s Toolbar is top notch!I remember paying for software to get those tools… Scott, check out the extension called IE view…for the page that Firefox wont display, rt click and click IE view and it will open the page in IE. I am still working 7 days a week, 12 hour shifts…..Have not been off since Thanksgiving, and they say we will get off the 24th & 25th….hope so!
Scott,
I am no web-design expert by any means, but if I can help, let me know. Be glad to do all I can.
Kilo,
Thanks. Sorry about your work schedule, that has to suck. Hope you will get Christmas off.
Thanks Kilo–I got coffeecup and using it to slowly trying to learn some html. I think I’ll get it figured out sooner or later..probably later.
:)
This is on windows? I use almost exclusively mac and use Firefox on there but wasn’t sure if it worked on the Windows PC’s.
Hey Sol,
Thanks for the Comment. Yeah, I run Win XP and Firefox. It works much better together than Win XP and IE.
Thanks.. think I’ll have to try it on my daughter’s pc because she manages to keep getting IE hijacked… or the old one keeps returning. Thanks!!
